Title: Kokomo 2013
Post by: Photog101 on December 04, 2012, 05:05:54 PM
So as not to hijack the other thread .....

Give me the definate dates Doc

I think that for 2013 the dates will be Sept 19-22.  Come February 1, 2013, I will be applying for my same campsite.  I'll update then.

Two years ago, I had my bike camper, three two man tents and one other bike camper trailer on the lot.  We parked five bikes across the road side of the lot.  Not enough room for a fire ring that year.  This past year, I had My Truck camper, 1-6 man tent, a trike with a home made camper trailer and a pop up canopy on the site and we had room for the fire ring.   The lot is 20' X 40'.  So there is usually plenty of room.  Shep and I used to have at least 5 people on one site and sometimes more.  Even the years that I took my 34' motorhome, I had enough room for the MH, 2-2man tents and room for a fire ring.  We watch a lot of ranger TV at night til the weeeeee hours of "O"early thirty and sometimes we stand watch all night.

I usually do my Airborne Walk-about on Fridays from 14:00 hrs and usually find my way home the next day, with my 1 liter HB mug, stopping at campsites and adding what ever they have to the mug.

Last year was my 21st time in attendance.  For many years I could only afford one night and one day, then I had to be in Lansing Michigan for "Michigan Remembers Run".  For the past 5 years, I have been there from Monday until Sunday.  Some of you know Sgt Hawk "Ripcord", and he has been there more than I have.  Also SOC and Swede are usually there, along with Dave Hill from PA (can't remember his screen name but he has a V8 powered trike).  So you won't be lonesome.

We always have plenty of alcohol and I always have my Courviousier.

Here is the URL for Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization. http://www.hcvvo.org/ (http://www.hcvvo.org/)

This reunion is not just for Vietnam Vets, it is for all eras to be Welcomed Home.

Just to wet your whistles, here is an aerial view of this past years event.  My camp site is just above the red "x" which is about 1/3 of the way from the right, second row from the top.

Sure would be nice to see some USPMA brothers. I know that you would have a great time.

BTW, just to the left of my camp site is the Green Hornets (20th Spec Ops Sqd).  For those who have been in a combat zone, you may have hitched a ride from those crazy phuckin rotorheads.  They are still operating.
